For a small pack I always look for a good lid and a rope holding device on the top or bottom as stuffing a rope into your pack (especially a wet one after ice climbing) is not good + it takes up heaps of room. You can always stuff it under the lid, but this opens the interior of the pack to the elements (not good in a mountaineering environment). Arcteryx make some great packs in that 35-40ltr range but they're exxy and prob' not available in Oz anyway. My Arcteryx RT 35 has lasted for donks and is awesome for pretty much everything including overnighters - in hindsight I wouldn't buy one with a front zip tho coz it tends to seperate... |
