Hi Mike,

I'd be more comfortable with the assumption of consistency if the UIAA drop test wasn't so close to absolute limit of the material.

The only vaguely related data I've seen is sterlingjim's drop-testing of half ropes to the UIAA single rope test (Eg. 80kg instead of 55).

Rope D. 80kg-9.22kN, 55kg-5.88kN, published with 55kg-6.1kN"

The first figure is the impact force measured in a 80kg FF1.78 test, the second is the impact force measured in a 55kg FF1.78 test (new samples of rope for every test) and the final figure is the manufacturer's specification.

Whats interesting for me from that data is the LACK of any consistency.
