1. im about to buy a synthetic, down doesnt really cut it IMO
2. getting a mont one, its red called sooper dooper evo or something
3. getting it for NZ Winter and the rest
4. .17kg i think, good sleep is essential to succes
5. i have just been using old down bag rated to -7C in -15c, heaps of clothes on and gore-tex jacket on top. a bivvie-sac will give you an extra 5C or so
6. synthetic is the way forward. its the only way to stay warm when the shit hits it and the only way of drying out gloves, socks, clothes, boots. u cant do that with down!

yes synthetic are bulkier etc but i think its well worth it! in a big NW storm your gonna be glad u got it when theres snow everywhere, your gloves are starting to freeze and you still have to get off the mountain!
