in follow up to my earlier post regarding home made aid gear. i have almost finished my double 'ledge total cost estimated around $300 probably less, as opposed to $1,000 + for commercial models. it is a foldout design, and im planning some funky colours. total weight 5-6 kg just to say thanks to all earlier advice, and hopefully i can post some photos of it in action soon ! ! ! if anyone is interested in designs/plans i can email something > i have no special engineering skills and highly recommend the DIY optioon to any other aid climbers looking to save some $$$$$ thanks max
