If you have used ply rotting is not likely to be a major problem. Delamination will be more of a problem. I would use something like solargaurd mixed with sand. Soarargaurd or X-10 dont need priming. Try bunnings for mis-tints which will be cheaper.

in terms of building a complex structure will require more complicated engineering and will end up being more expensive. if space (and cost) is not problem you could have two woodies like richs but make one larger than the other. the larger one can be on less of an angle so the heights are the same. you could then connect them at the to with a small roof. the roof would need to be big enough that you dont hit your head on the wall behind if you fall off. iff you then put corrugated plastic on the roof and the walls so so that the plastic on the roof overhangs the the walls so that the water runs down the walls. If you do this the roof can be flat. The water may pool a bit but this wont matter. If you put a bead of silicon on the underside of the roof plastic it just near the edge will stop the water running under the plastic.
This system gives you quite long problems with up and down climbing, two wall angles and a structure with is essentially three components which will help if you need to move it. Make sure the engineering is checked by someone with some buildign experience. If a large climbign wall falls on you it would be pretty nasty.
maybe you could draw some plans and post them on chockstone to get some feedback.
