Yeah I've got a pair of Super Stinx with a patterned base Stefan put in. Naxo bindings. These things suck! I find them HEAVY and clunky. On one trip last year I hiked up Eskdale spur in my Garmont Adrenalines - man that was tough! Next trip I wore my 5:10 guidies and clipped my boots into my bindings on my pack. That was better. Never hike uphill in AT boots with a pack if you can avoid it. I find this gear clunky, awkward to use generally, esp. doing stuff like switchbacks up steep b.c. slopes where the tail of the ski hangs down anddrags in the snow, instead of returning to underneath your heel from the spring in the tele binding cable. Im going back to tele gear which is I find much more intuitive and user friendly and lighter in the b.c. At a resort, skiing with a patterned base really sucks as well as you go super slow. You have to double pole and skate instead of just cruise. Anyway, I've still got the gear but have confirmed my preference for tele gear. Interestingly, on one trip, a mate's wife was using her AT gear (he teles). They had done the Haute Route some time earlier so could both ski pretty good. Where I was struggling and clunking around, she was cruising in her AT gear (Fritschi Diamir Freereides) so it cool to see the gear being used well. Still gona stick to teles though!
