In the process of building a rack at the moment and was wondering if anyone had experience/opinions on Kong gear? Seems a lot cheaper than the other brands, is the quality and safety compromised by such a price difference? i.e Set of nuts $100, cams $60 etc

I have a few of the kong smaller cams, they feel good, place ok but the metal is less quality. more prone to chip etc. and the trigger gets sticky easy I use them to double on my more expencive (and better) aliens and BD. I really like the extendable sling they come with.
If your building a new rack, dont go cheap to save money. because you will just be spending a lot more buying the gear you should have got in the first place when you get annoyed with your crappy ones.

I've got some old Kong biners, and they are the best of my old stuf.

I have some kong key lock biners and they have a habit of sticking. I don't really like them. I have the rock empire/trango cams, and they're pretty good if you're after cheapo cams.

I have one kong biner and the sleeve on the screwgate undoes v. easily. but its an old model - they've probly fixed it on newer ones.
