i've searched a fair bit for information on rope age and longevity, but what i've found mostly pertains to used ropes, i have a question about an unused rope...

i have a mammut flash 10mm rope, that is about 6 years old. it is still in the original plastic wrapping. its never been used. its been stored in an attic in the dark, so no uv exposure, it may have had some summer heat and winter cold, but nothing very extreme.. so i am wondering if the rope is safe to use, and if there is any evidence to suggest that just the passage of time has deteriorated this rope at all..

i know this question also pertains mostly to your level of risk aversion, but I am looking for any sound advice anyone can give me about whether this rope has deteriorated at all or not.. so i can form a basis for whether or not i should use it..
