Over on the rc.com there is talk about these new (still in development) MaxCams from Trango and claims that they will greatly increase the expansion range but still weigh less than camalots. (See below). So, fellow gear addicts, what are your thoughts? Would be nice to know if things like strength and stability of placements are effected.

> The MaxCam achieves the large expension ratio by floating 2 of the cams on axles attached to the other 2 cams. That's right, it's got 3 axles!!! It'll be assembled on a single stem with a doubled sling like the FlexCams are. Target delivery date is Spring '04.... Yes, the outer cams float on the inner cams increasing the expansion range to 2:1 ratio. Our proto will fit the tight end of a #2 Camalot and the big end of a #3. The good thing here is that it weighs less than the #2.
