Obsessed has his head screwed on right!

I have had a crappy experience at a store who shall remain ...... bugger it ..... it was paddys!

I went into the store in a rush with 10min on the parking meter to buy a mate a harness for his birth day.

I knew what I wanted, harness with adjustable leg loops similar to mine, as he had worn mine on several ocations and it worked well. I had the cash and was ready to go!

I could see onlu 1 fully adjustable harnesses so I asked the closest assistant. He spent 6min argueing with me that nobody ever buys adjustable leg loop harnesses these days! Despite my pointing out that I had one and needed to acomodate different clothing layers and maybe slightly different climbers. He told me that in his "mountaneering" experience he had never needed adjustable leg loops. (he was a soft pimple ridden schoool boy)

I endeded up just telling him to show me the range of adjustable harnesses so i could decide for my self! and he actualy said no. He insited I buy a fixed leg version..

I saw red, told him to get stuffed and went accross the road to MTN Designs and got back to my car with a great harness and time left on the parkin meter! (not before I marched pass paddys window with the competitors bag!)

My theory is that they did not have a good range or at they were out of stock and the assistant was trying to force upon me what was avaliable at the time. Just to get a sale.

I have worked in retail, as a botom feeder assistant, manager, and now I run my own bussiness. You have to remember the customer is ALWAYS right. If they are a bit midguided you gentley put them back on track. What this guy did is a big No NO!

and as a result that store has lost a customer for ever.

Another rule I find good with packs is to avoid ones with all the gadgets, thousands of pockets, loops, and crap you dont realy need! A simple pack that has less to go wrong and dedicates more thought to frame and comfort design is the bets bet.

Those mesh pockets on the side should also be avoided as they a snag on everything!
