That's crazy, in my honest opinion. We pay for ambulance, but not for other forms of emergency transport?

Agreed, there is always the case where someone may not call it in for fear of the cost involved. However, this is the point- If it's something simple, like running low on water, the call won't get made. If however, it is a life-threatening situation, like being close enough to dehydration that a few thousand dollars doesn't matter, the call gets made.

Once again, it's just like an ambulance. A sprained ankle won't need an one, but a broken spine would. Of course, you 'can't stop stupid' as mentioned earlier, and some people will call an ambulance to a sprained ankle, but at least that person pays.
