Hey Guys,
A friend of mine is looking for a new tent and seems keen on the Mont Epoch... Thought I'd ask and see what people on here thought?
Tent would be for all weather camping/hiking, winter through summer, mostly in Aus.
Opinions? Reviews? Other recommendations?
Thanks, H

The Mont Epoch is a great high quality tent. Like most most Mont stuff it is pricey but top quality.
There are lighter options though, most notably the Exped Venus II springs to mind. While I don't own a Venus II, many of my friends do. The Epoch is larger and possibly more robust. Both are great tents.

If your friend isn't planning on using it overseas in alpine conditions they could probably get away with a much lighter all weather tent. As patto said, the Exped Venus 2 is an excellent option. I have one and have used it above the snowline many times without issue. The duel door and vestibules are great especially for winter as you have plenty of space to sort out your gear.
Some alternatives include the WE First Arrow, Macpac Minaret/Olympus or Hilleberg Nallo 2/3. I know the first arrow and minaret are quite small and the olympus isn't a lightweight option. Don't know much about the Hillebergs but have heard good things.
