I've got a #5 Wild Country Friend (about 2 or 3 years old) which has got very strong springs, far stronger then my #5 (old) Camalot. It can be quite an effort opening it when I'm really pumped. I'd also been told the strong springs are to resist walking. Unfortunately the wires sometimes tend to catch in the sides of the cam which can be a bit of a pain.
