I'm not sure if a Microcender would be much chop for rope solo because of it's configuration. For this I use a chesty with Croll ovaled onto my belay loop. Then use another oval and Mini-traxion off the front of the belay loop. At top of the route just thread GriGri onto the rope, lose the Traxion, then come off the Croll onto the GriGri. This has been the best setup I have come up over time with and I find it runs well with minimal rope drag. I know these are toothed devices and am well aware of the implications of shock loading. In my experience the forces involved in a fall in this type of setup are quite minimal, whether either dynamic or static is used.
