Some shoes you can stretch and some you can't.

Some brands of Scarpa are constructed with a "non stretchy" inner. It doesn't matter how long you climb in them, or what tricks you try - essentially, they will be the same size a year later as when you got them. Okay - so maybe a little bit of stretch, but not as much as the other construction method.

Sorry - I'm not a shoe guy, but the above was roughly the explanation when I was buying new shoes and told the guy in the store about my Scarpa experience - which is that after essentially 3 years of gym climbing, they were still tight as.

By the way, try different brands. I went to several different stores, and I tried on the full Scarpa range. Scarpa make a good shoe - but their particular foot "shape" that they build for just didn't suit me.
