I run a double set of offset wires Wendy. I only reach for standard ones occasionally.
There are very few placements that a standard nut will go into that an offset won't.
Most placements, the offset is better than a standard.

I had a competition to prove a point with a partner. They placed a standard nut that they thought would be a problem for an offset and then I placed an offset in the same place.
He couldn't find any that the offset didn't work better in.
He bought a set as soon as he could find them. (This was in the pre DMM days and HB's were hard to find.)
I wouldn't mind swapping my standard BD nuts for some Wild country ones, as their new ones are quite offset too.

Don't know for cams, but I would suspect that if you had them on your rack that you would find them far more useful than predicted.
Seems to be that wherever I climb, most features in rock have a flare to them.
