yeap having a 60m lead and 60m static can work well, this is what i used to use and it worked OK, I brought a longer 10mm static for my last trip down to Buffalo and found it worked better. I didnt mind the extra weight of the 10mm and the extra length and its much simpler to use as a lower out line (tie alpine butterfly in rope, clip to bags, lower out) also by lowering out like this it tends to even out the wear on the rope, my last haul line shat itself near the ends. Everyone has there own system they find works for them
