The link between aluminium and alzheimers stems from a flawed collection of data by a student doing research in an English university. The student took samples from a number of brains of deceased people who had suffered from the disease. These brains were all stored at the same facility. All the samples were found to have taces of aluminium and the student released a paper stating the link between aluminium and alzheimers.

A second study was commissioned on these findings but the difference being that another student tested the solution that was used to preserve the brains and found traces of aluminium. Samples stored by other facilties using different storage solutions found no traces of aluminium in any of the alzheimers brains.

An urban myth was born.
