I wonder whether this is a stupid comment also..

From what I understand glue-in anchors work by transferring the force transmitted from the fall to the rock surrounding, but do not exert any force when there is no load.
Would this mean that prolonged loading of 10kn would transfer significantly more energy to the rock than a short, sharp 10kn load?
I think this is the concept of "Impulse" force I remember from my high school physics, where total energy imparted equals force x time.... ie 10kn x 20 seconds is considerably more total energy than 10kn x 0.2 seconds.
This might account for a prolonged force being much more damaging to the rock than a short, sharp but equal force?

I'm not sure if I'm correct with my high school physics, please feel free to call me an idiot!
