So here's what I'm thinking so far...

Not to scale obviously. Frame is steel tube, with steel elbows which fit neatly (but not tightly) inside the frame tubes. The join in the long side tube is a smaller diameter pipe welded in place at one end, so the other end tube slides over the top. This smaller section of joining pipe is long enough to accept a short 25mm section for the cross-member.

First thought for the bed was to wrap the fabric around the tube, then sew straight through the bed. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be better to make 4 oversize sleeves first, then sew the sleeves onto a rectangular bed piece. That way it's easy to double up the sleeve fabric on the wall side.

Also will I need to taper the bed pattern at the waist to allow for a curve along the long side? That might be easier to cut/sew using the sleeve idea.

I was planning to use tape, strong metal buckles and a rigging plate for the suspension system (like the BD ledges) but I'm cost conscious all of a sudden -- actually after pricing metal tube and nylon fabric; ww&s wasn't wide of the mark -- now I'm thinking a big biner and a bunch of 6mm cord would do the trick.

Keen to hear some thoughts/ideas.
