Here's one from left field. I have thought about using a nylon wool bale pack for this job. Being on a sheep farm does make it a little easier for me to procure such a thing than the man on the street but they are pretty common in any sheep producing regions, eg. the grampians. I reckon they would weigh about 2kg but would contain enough material for 1/2 a dozen ledges. (you might only conveniently get 4). When you buy a quantity of them I think they come out to about $30. They are bloody strong, but may be a little heavy although to my guess not excessively so. It has even occured to me to sew a couple of loops into an entire pack and turn it into a large, extremely rough, haul bag / hammock. Just an idea.
