i recon gas is the way to go, only cons ive found so far are:
1. suck in snow. (unless you sort out some warm water in a bowl)
2. can't re-fill the canisters.
3. never been an issue for me, but i wonder if you can find gas canisters in the middle of the Korakoram(sp?) etc...

I've got a wind pro, and reactor.
wind pro is good when cooking for more than 2 people, or multi pot meals (as if you would, too much washin up)... also good because you can put the canister in the pot (because of the fuel line) when boiling water to warm it up if cookin on snow.

reactor is good because it is:
fast
simmers really well (touchy throttle though)
small and light overall package
titanium pot comes with it (can't use other pots easily though)
windPROOF (except when lighting the bastard)
runs on a lower pressure than other gas stoves so uses the WHOLE canister... yay, no more 1/4 full canisters sitting round!

reactor puts off more stinky gasses, and can suck to light in strong wind. apparently they now come with a zapper, not sure if this would solve the problem, as with the zapper you could prob light it with the pot already in place...

i use both about the same amount, either choice will be a good one i recon.
hopefully mine last 25 years! good effort!
