I watched a Star Trek: Enterprise episode 2 weeks ago, where they had to go into a cave to rescue some alien scientists.

They were using figure 8 decenders and BD camalots to abseil into the cave. I swear it was a size 1 C4 camalot, and they abseiled off a single piece anchor! And of course, like all dramatic shows, the anchor blew and they went falling into the cave.

Now my brother asked a good question: Why is there be climbing gear on a starship? And also, the year is 2100+, why are they using 100 year old equipment??? LOL...
