They transport alot of preserves in these barrels, I have some i use for compost bins. I got mine at a rural clearance sale, but i think they got them from a company that tins improrted gerkins and the like. Talk about watertight, when i was younger we would get in the big barrels seal them up and my mates would push eachother into our dam, not a drop of water but smelt like brine for weeks after! Lots of fun!!

I have seen lots of school groups with these barrels so maybe enquire there (they probably just got them for big$$)

Just thought of another place I have seen them - the local health food shop stores their bulk "healthy" substances in them so they must be avaliable some where cheap!
