you can do the big ones with 1mm dyneema string. No doubt BP has told you all about this.
But make sure you de burr the holes in the cam lobe so the new string does not fray. And while you
do that and if you are not averse to drilling things out and heavily modifying things that have been
'designed' by 'qualified' 'engineers', then why not drill it out to 2 or 3 or 11 mm. then use thicker cord,
wire, old climbing rope or mechanical linkages to operate the cam.

But for a good on the road fix that lasts for a surprisingly long time especially on the smaller numbers
and will really impress your contemporaries, save that 10 dollars that a re wire kit would cost and
spend it on a really nice bottle of champagne. Then you can use the wire from around the cork to
repair your cams. just thread it through the hole in the lobe, bend it down 90 degrees, then all the way
through the trigger and back up to the other lobe. or just wrap it tightly around the brass swage stub if
it is only one side that is broken.
Now how to cut the excess wire you are surely asking! Well you can either use your fancy leatherman
tool if you know how. and if you dare to take it out of its pouch to risk raising all sorts of questions
about your sexuality... or use some readily available campsite tools that even your average monkey or
magpie should be qualified to operate. just bash the wire between a rock and a hard place and then
bend back and forth at that weakened point until... voila!
Now you can celebrate your next send with a bottle of bubbly and pocket the 3 dollars in change.
