skiing as an approach to climbing is a big compromise - if I want to climb something hard (whatever is "hard" for you) I'll go on snowshoes or ski & carry climbing boots. but then carrying climbing boots is shitty & heavy so then I'll only do that if the terrain is fairly gently downhill for a long way (whether downhill on the way in or out). Otherwise if I'm skiing + climbing, its only to something that's fairly easy to climb & that I'd be happy climbing in ski boots.

I usually try & avoid mixing skiing climbing - its more fun all round to keep them separate. but where I am there is plenty of stuff that is accessible so its easy to keep them separate.
