I picked up a pair of new trekking poles yesterday - they are heavy and shiny things but for 20 bucks cannot go wrong. Checked out the climbing stuff. All looks like good entry level stuff.

Having dealt with Aldi recently on a professional level and pitched products to them, I can personally say that generally they pick good suppliers with guaranteed quality and value for money pricing. They would not put a product on their shelves that was below a minimum quality standard. So climbing products that look like they are CAMP makes sense - it's where their position themselves - just look at other things like electrical stuff, power tools etc - it's a similar situation.
