Hi Li - you have mentioned you get cold feet and are keen to do some higher altitude climbing. A couple of people have mentioned Spantiks which I have found to be fantastic in NZ, the alps and on Denali. They are warm, relatively light (2.3kg pair) and dextrous. Although bloody expensive, if you are thinking of buying from overseas then maybe it's worth giving some thought to the idea of going straight to a pair of these? The warmth is definitely overkill for NZ but if you're serious about climbing higher (and get cold feet anyway) then maybe they would save you some money and time in the long run.
