My son (18) plays championship and VBL basketball. He dislocated his left shoulder and went to the Maroondah emergency to have it put back in. Two weeks later we had an appointment in out patience and we were told it was a posterial disloction and he can go back to basketball, no physio, nothing. He lasted 4 minutes on the court and it was out again. Back to emergency only to find out the last dislocation was infact anterial, back to out patience with the same idiot doctor who promptly blamed emergency for the mistake. He has had an MRI and all the damage is in the front of his shoulder and, there is a god, we got a different doctor in out patience who has now told him no basketball for 3 months, physio for all that time and no op unless it comes out again or if there is pain after a game. How much exercise is this going to take before it comes good and how do we know when it is good enough to go back?
