I was at Ben Cairn one time where a dog was wandering around the top and wandered onto the steep territory, then tumbled down to the bottom. It's shocked owners then had to carry it out and try to find the nearest vet. It was bloody awful. My dogs mean the world to me and I'm sure this dog meant the world to its owners too.

If people insist on taking dogs to crags, then they must be at the bottom, not the top and should have somebody keeping an eye on them at all times.

I think kids should be at crags but they also should have somebody looking out for them at all times and shouldn't be close enough to the climbing action to be in the fall zone for dropped gear or - shudder to think - a decking climber.
