Cramping up when climbing

Anyone suffer from muscle cramping during climbing, especially in the arms/hands? Interested to know the causes but moreso the cure for this. Hydration and magnesium salts don't prevent this. Any other guesses?

Pump/Lactic Acid build up?

Or Muscles Ceasing up? My hips cease up because my hips are 'impinged' but thats another story.

Apparently an affective way to 'de-pump' is to put your up, shake, down, then shake, and up again (or onto the hold) Yeaah. But that's only what I've been reading in books while the shop is dead.
