The inside front cover of the '07 Blue Mountains Climbing guide shows an astonishing
coincidence of another Julian Saunders who is also a well-educated osteopath, located

Oliver Webber is a physio located in Wentworth Falls shops who diagnosed my broken
scaphoid. I had reached out quickly and caught myself on rocks when I fell through the
false floor of a dry canyon (appropriately named Nose Dive) and couldn't understand why
I had minimal arm strength a week later - I couldn't lift a spinnaker pole when crewing.

Hand clinic at Sydney Hospital showed exercises along the lines of... hold back of hand
on a flat surface and bring thumb over to touch base of little finger. Later do this over a
golf ball or hard glasses case - it is not important of course that the thumb touch the
base of opposing finger, just aim for it and hold for a few seconds. I did similar around
the shaft of a kayak paddle while getting my breath back today after briefly over-
extending the thumb when I was spat out at PWS!
