So in a strange turn of events...
Julian (Osteopath) is a fan of the surgery, and the surgeon is a fan of conservative treatment haha.
I think it all boils down to ...
* I can still do every day things and play every day sports with conservative treatment
* If I want to climb hard, powerful stuff, I will almost certainly need surgery, but even then it won't be the same as it was before.
* Recover over 3 - 4 months, and asses if the injury is limiting me and my climbing. Odds are other things are going to limit me
before my shoulder does. (I'm no star)
He's also suggested I get back on the wall now, and just take it easy, climbing is an excellent way to put load through it, and train
it back up.
CTP Insurance claim came through, they'll cover limited medical/economic expenses for me (within 6 months)
In Issue #77 of ROCK, this injury is briefly discussed, and surgery very strongly encouraged....(from Julian)
Thanks everyone for their comments, it's really helped me to hear how other's have got on with this bastard of an injury. |
