Man dies abseiling in Blue Mountains A man has been found dead by friends after an abseiling fall at a popular spot in the Blue Mountains of NSW. Friends, who were abseiling with the 50-year-old man, said they saw him in trouble while he was scaling Boar's Head Rock, Katoomba, west of Sydney, at 12.30pm (AEST) today, a police spokesman said. The man, from Newcastle, fell and his friends found him dead soon after, the spokesman said. It is believed the man suffered a heart attack before falling, he said. The spot where the man was found is a series of gullies and ledges used by experienced and beginner abseilers. Police are investigating the incident and a post-mortem examination will be carried out. AAP
