Sport climbing, the new extreme sport! |

The problem from what I know of the accidents mentioned is two fold, people not wanting to spend the $200-300 for a new rope that is the correct length for the job and hence are willing to get belyed most of the climb and down climb the rest(setting up another dodgy situation), and people not wanting to tie notes in the end of their rope. Unfortunately it isn't always gym bumblies doing this(I refer to Zac's fall at Araps). We can't expect the bumblies to get it if the experienced people don't do it. Do as I do not as I say comes to mind.
My 2cents worth. |
