Small tip, not directly related but... Have forced myself and my training partners recently when training indoors to warm up more thoroughly. Meaning a minimum of four routes well under our respective abilities, perhaps the longest, easiest routes the gym has to offer. Whatever gets you vaguely warm without getting flash pumped. If you start getting pumped, jump off and have a five minute break. After the four are done, begin to increase the intensity. This gives the tendons and ligaments a chance to get warm, stretched and properly lubricated. Much less chance for injury, with the bonus of being able to climb a hell of a lot longer, and better during the session (thanks to no early debilitating flash pump). Of course this is all common sense but it’s easy to get overenthusiastic and not do a proper warm up.
