Well, that was the point that I didn't get across very well. Any core strength exercise is only a supplement to real climbing. It's nice to do both, but if you can only do one of the two, it is better just to climb overhangs to develop the core strength (and technique) needed in climbing, rather than using exercises like situps alone (and dragonflags and front levers and all that party tricks).

Well, the only opposition exercise I know for fingers is the exercise with rubber bands. However, I'm not sure if that's going to help or hurt your finger injury?
