Weather can change pretty quick there, unfortunately for you, it was a lighting storm. We copped a snow storm once, luckily we were almost down when it came, but had to descend the gully between Cima Ovest and Cime Grande with 150mm of snow hiding all the loose rocks and covering the scree. Once we got back to the Locatelli Hut, the storm had gone, and we got to watch 7 parties get helicoptered off while we enjoyed a beer and pasta! Sunny and warm one minute, a blizzard the next!
