...if you do go down the Ramp on a summer's afternoon of soft snow... for everybody's sake (especially
your own)... please PITCH it with ANCHORS (its about 9 pitches). If it looks tempting not to... resist the
temptation, or take the NW buttress instead of the Ramp. A tiny, seemingly trivial slip on the Ramp will
send you sky-rocketting off the side of it (not down along its length). If you are roped to a partner and not
anchored to the mountain you will also catapult your partner off the cliff. You won't be able to self-arrest.
You won't have a chance. If this post saves just one life it will have been a post well worth making.

Cascade Saddle - oh boy. Yep, another one. I won't get started on this route except to say that I think
DoC needs to get its act together on the way this route is listed and sign-posted. Too many people take it
for a "difficult" tramp. It is signposted like a tramp/track, despite the many warnings.
