The ice is building but there is very little to climb at the moment. The photo link is a bit deceptive - the ice is only a few centimeters thick. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3516/3736977659_936086cfd8_b.jpg First time in 6 years in of going there in July when there has been no ice in Gutter Snipe to climb on (steep gully located to the right hand side of the waterfall - usually always climbable) The West Ridge looks somewhat bare but it would still be a nice snow/mixed plod - heading there myself next Friday night. Lets hope for some nice cold fronts this week! John K.
