Looking for new climbing buddies in melb
10:22:21 AM
After a 2 year hiatus am keen to get back into climbing. Am looking for buddies to hang out with and climb indoors during the week and outdoors weekends. I have a car, gear, and was previously onsighting about 21. I used to live in sth island nz, so have a bit of an alpine focus.

Also just moved to Melbourne and also climb about same grade, well when fitness is up which needs a bit of work after a return from a UK winter . Looking to find some partners for both Indoor and out also have full gear, no car yet though, but working on it. Any recomendations on indoor spots accessible on public transport would be good.

Hi there,
I'm also looking for climbing partner and is available both evenings and weekends. I'm happy to climb either city gym or Altona (prefer Altona) but unfortunately don't have a car.
I'm a moderate climber with a couple of years of experience, climb +21/22.

"Hardrock CBD" as it's name suggests is in the CBD therefore very accessible. Burnley Bouldering Wall (Free! - search this site), I think Hardrock Nunawading is also fairly close to the train station (correct me if I'm wrong peeps). Cliffhanger in Altona North is more difficult as I think it involves using a very infrequent bus service or 1 hour+ walk from newport/spotswood rail station. Lactic Factory in Abbotsford is near Collingwood rail station.

Thanks for the tips.

Sounds like getting some transport sorted sooner rather than later is the thing to do.

Hey there,

I am in Melbourne until Tuesday. I am planning to do some bouldering just to get up on the wall, but I'd love to do some routes, leading or top-rope and belaying or both. Would you interested in a partner for a session between now and tuesday evening?
