Hi
I'm going to Tasmania from the 12th to the 20th of January and would like to climb Rysavy Ridge. I used to climb (not well) and I'm comfortable with ropework etc but I haven't climbed for several years. The climb is 350m long and graded 11/12 and I'm confident that I can second that if its not too 'pumpy' - apparently the climb takes approx 6hrs. I have some gear (shoes, harness, carabiners, some chocks) but I don't have a rope.
If your interested in guiding then let me know. You should be very comfortable with this grade and be safe (I don't want to die). Also let me know how much it would cost.

Dude - may I humbly suggest you try something less committing if you have not been climbing for a while. What you are thinking of is a big day out. Try some of the easier classics on the Organ Pipes (Mt Wellington) such as Fiddlesticks (14***) or Moonraker (16***) to see how you go.
Arapiles has a huge range of fantastic easy classics such as Tiptoe Ridge (4***), Exodus (6**) etc etc.
There is a bunch of great easier climbing to be had. I hope you enjoy them before committing to such a big day out. 6 hours for a route of that length (regardless of the grade) sounds very conservative - maybe if you were in top form you could do it in that time. I would suggest you allow at least double if you do plan on trying it.
Climb safe & enjoy.

Seems like a fair few groups are taking longer than 6 hours or starting quite late. The land owner seems to have some issues with climbers finishing in the dark and walking back through his property.

I reckon Gerry or Bob would give him an excellent day out.

I don't think asking for a guide to lead him up a grade 12 is being too committing. Sounds pretty reasonable to me.
If I was down in Tassy I wouldn't hesitate to put my hand up for the job. It would be a great way to earn a few $$$.
