Hi

I am looking for a climbing partner.
I am traveling to Australia from Vancouver, Canada. I've done most of my climbing in Squamish a large traditional climbing area near Vancouver. I like sport climbing and really enjoy trad climbing especially multi pitch. I've been climbing for about 10 years. I consider myself a safe and reliable climbing partner. My upper level on trad is about 22 – 23 in Squamish anyway.

I will be in Australia Nov 22, 07 I am staying for 4 months. I plan on heading to Melbourne around Nov 27th. From my research the Grampians and Arapalies are the places to go. Any thoughts on the best spots for traditional multi pitch climbing?

I haven't made definite plans yet about where I'll be living, I would like to live in either Sydney or Melbourne. I am bringing a full rack, rope etc. If anyone is looking for a climbing partner for Araps, Gramps or blue mountains, please email me back at annilouandrobert@yahoo.com

Cheers

Robert Hepper.

If you end up in the Blue Mts then there are plenty of climbers there to show you around the best places. Try Cragx.org and post a mesage for the NSW people or PM me.

if you're climbing 5.11 at Squamish you'll have a wicked time at Araps & the Gramps. The climbing is totally different, steep/overhanging face climbing, you'll place more wires than cams.

get up to Mt Buffalo if you get a chance also. a bit scarier than Squamish, granite climbing but bigger crystals.

Hi Robert,

Squish is one of my favorite places!(I'm from Seattle area.)

I'm piecing together a trip to Oz for sometime late Jan/early Feb. If you're still looking for partners around then, maybe we can do some exploring together.

Have a safe trip!
