Beta for Summer climbing in the Gramps

My girlfriend and I are heading south for Christmas. Yes I know it'll be hot but it's the only time she can get off. Will be in the Grampians around the 21/22 December and was hoping to get some local beta on early morning crags then some cooler places after the sun hits the wall in most places. She's climbing 26/7's so there's no worries there.
Would love to get on Serpentine etc
Will be down there for around 3 weeks, heading out to Araps for a bit too.

Thanks
Matt

Taipan Wall gets into about full sun by about 2:30pm so to beat the heat the morning is the best shot there.

Taipan the day after a real hot day can be bad. some still do it, but the slopers suck when its hot & greasy.

A lot of the northern Vic Ranges crags are good in the morning. Most of the crags face west so don't get
sun until after midday. These crags include The Gallery, Red Rocks, Muline, Mt Fox etc ect. In the
afternoon the best place around that area is probably Red Rocks. A great summer crag is The Tower.
Shade all day until 5pm.

Thanks for your input. I guess the early start is the way to go then.
BTW Is it worth getting a rental 4wd to get to Millenium for a few days or is the walk not that bad??

If you don't care about your car you can get 2WD vehicles up that track. If you do care about it - add
about 30 minutes to the walk (ie 40-60min all up). Its not that bad.

My tip: If it rains heavily (if), don't take a font drive car down the road to Millenium Caves. The road will get clay like and you WILL get bogged... my past experience...
