I have been to SA to climb and climbed mainly in the Drakensberg but after experiencing the first hand a near death experience, talking to locals and guides etc, about the violence, hatred and lack of respect for people, I cut my climbing trip short. I would advise you to go climbing anywhere else but SA, Ive climbed in America, Canada, England, Europe, all over Oz and NZ these are places that you can climb but not have your life threatened. SA has the highest murder and rape statistics X10 in the world if you want to go climbing there are plenty of places to go other than SA I agree there is heeps of great rock there but you just cant climb there because its not safe!
