lived in seattle for 4 years and went to squamish a lot.
1. campground is great. share a pitch with others and it's wicked cheap. No showeres, go to the pool in town-awesome hot tub for C$2 per visit. make sure you sign up on thurs for the whole weekend-campground gets crowded friday night. they have a message board for hooking up with others and the hostel in town is also a good place to meet other climbers.
2. dont leave any valuables in the parking lots near the crags. (the campground parking lot is usually ok)
3. weather can be iffy in sept. may rain a lot or not too much.
4. the guide book is spectacular (except for directions to a few of the obscure crags)
5. not alot of climbs over 12 (yds), lots of 10 and 11's though. try to climb during the week and take a break on saturday. get up EARLY (save the drinking for friday night) and you can have any climb you want to yourselves.
6. town is great. library, food shops, gear shops. close by.
7. recommend: exasperator, split pillar, diedre, snake, rutabaga, angels, birds of prey, blazing saddles |
