There are a few around that enjoy their aiding, most of whom are closer to Melbourne than I am.
Having said that however, if you are ever up Mt Buffalo way and I'm available, then I can get you started or progress your learning curve.
Around the third weekend in November on most years (for some time now), we have run an informal event at Mt Buffalo called The Buffalo Aidfest (aid climbing festival), where aspirants to that form of the climbing game gather, to share knowledge and improve their aid climbing skills by trying out the techniques and equipment that they may not have come across previously.
Keep an eye on Chockstone closer to then for what's happening this year.
I note you say you have full tra(ck?)d, and aid gear, however depending on your ultimate goal/s you could easily find yourself looking for more to facilitate your aspirations(!), as thin-aid in particular can be gear intensive, a lot of which is pretty useless for normal climbing...
In the meantime get out and experiment with your gear, and to keep your appetite whetted, do a search (tab on left side of screen), on aid, and you will turn up a lot of informative posts that have appeared on Chockstone over the years, along with trip reports from previous aidfests.
