Heading to Ton Sai/Railay [Thailand] on the good suggestion of some other climbers heading there. If anyone is going to be in the area from 21st December 2012->3rd January 2013 and looking for a climb please pm me.

General Interests on my side = multi pitch, ~19s-max 23, but generally just want to get on some rock and explore the area.

[ps i acknowledge this is arguably wrong! forum but you can't blame a girl for trying.. ;)]

Just returned, yesterday.
people from everywhere so you can probably make friends there, depending on where your staying.
lots of moderate routes altho they can feel a lot harder due to your sweat and their polished nature on the high traffic volume areas.
You can always hire a guide for half day around 500 baht so around 35-40 bucks!
if you go deep water soloing make sure you perfect your landing or end up with bruises like i did.
you need lots of chalk but can buy there.
have fun, this was my second trip so im over it now.

ta; thanks for the advise. Yeah i'm assuming I'll meet some there but thought i'd start the comms early. 2 weeks solid climbing's gonna take some effort to have consistent partners! ;)

planning to stay in Ton Sai.. not sure where i'll probably just sort it when i get there.. *might* schedule in a couple nights but will likely wing it. If you have any advise on a particular place to stay that would be easy to meet others looking to climb - let me know!

deep water soloing.. hmm... might just have a go.. wouldn't have thought the challenge would be the landing but i guess I'll see!! :)

Sigh, I'd love to go, but I couldn't find a remotely reasonable air fare.

We just wandered around looking for a place, they let you look at the rooms, that's all you need.

Deep Water soloing there is awesome, when you get above 10 metres, landing is important, we saw a guy with stuffed lungs after screwing it up.

Cass, Glen and I get there on the 22nd of Dec till the 12th of Jan, Jess, Maria et co on the 29th with 2 mates from Syd and some friends coming from Melbourne also, most climbing 19 - 24 ish, so there will be plenty of people keen for a climb. Never had an issue finding climbing partners when staying at Tonsai, always heaps of keen climbers. Just sit in the Dream Bar and watch out for the dodgy ones, so you know who is safe lol. Seen some horrors at Tonsai/Railay!!!!

Hey, dude. Just a note...I'm not going to be there until Feb. But? Been there three times, and can tell you it's redonkulously easy to find partners there. First time I ever went, I found two in thirty seconds. Right outside my door. It's just a festive, fun, family atmosphere there. AND there's a couple of message boards, too. So it's way easy to hook the partner thing up.
