Cat and dog meat is banned for Buddhists. You would deeply offend Thai people by suggesting they eat dog meat. Some Burmese refugees living in Thailand eat dog meat. Ethnic Lao people in North-Eastern Thailand also sometimes eat dog meat, which ethnic Thai use as proof that Lao are inferior to them (a matter not unrelated to the current protests in BKK). |
