one weekend a ranger rocked up while we were cleaning up the hut, left us some matches and candles and thanked us for keeping the place clean

the next weekend, we used the hut all day when it was raining and left various kit inside when we went to our tents. the next morning everything , ropes, stoves, boots etc... was gone.

after a few hours driving round we found the a+hole ranger, different guy, who took our gear and was going to bin it, and he said the hut was not a bivy, and the gear WAS ABANDONED!!!

obviously he knew no one was sleeping in it cause he would have woken us up. we tried to tell him we were just keeping our gear dry and he was a wanker.

so my advice is not to leave anything in the hut
